2025 Matrics Results
Rhenish Girls’ High School, the oldest public girls’ school in South Africa, marked its 166th anniversary year with outstanding academic success as the Class of 2025 delivered an exceptional set of National Senior Certificate (NSC) results.
The 2025 matric cohort achieved a 100% pass rate, with a 100% Bachelor’s pass rate, meaning every learner qualified for university study. The class recorded an impressive overall average of 79.08%, reflecting sustained academic excellence across a wide range of subjects.
Academic achievement at the highest level was a standout feature of the results. A total of 78 learners (53.4% of the cohort) achieved A-aggregate results, while 14 candidates attained an overall average of 90% or above. Collectively, the class earned 589 subject distinctions, averaging 4.03 distinctions per candidate.
Individual achievements were equally noteworthy. Juné Theron achieved an exceptional nine distinctions, while Kaitlin Ernstzen earned eight distinctions. In addition, 23 learners achieved seven distinctions, 17 learners achieved six distinctions, and 21 learners earned five distinctions each.
Strong subject performance was evident across the curriculum. Eleven subjects achieved an average above 80%, including Afrikaans (First Additional and Home Language), Design (PJ Olivier), Dramatic Arts, Engineering Graphics and Design, English Home Language, German Second Additional Language, Information Technology (PRG), Life Orientation, Music and Visual Art (PJ Olivier). A further 10 subjects recorded averages above 70%, notably Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Geography and History. English Home Language, taken by every learner, attained 91 distinctions, while Afrikaans First Additional Language attained 99 distinctions.
The top 10 learners of the Class of 2025 also brought great pride to Rhenish Girls’ High School, achieving outstanding results:

Amelia Kilpin – 92.43%, 7 distinctions (100% for Design)
Victoria-Lynn Seyffert – 92.43%, 7 distinctions
Jasmine Aitken – 91%, 7 distinctions

These exceptional 2025 results build on the school’s strong recent academic record, following the equally impressive performances of the Classes of 2023 and 2024, both of which were awarded second place nationally.
